Overview: An energetic, creative, practical course that will decrease burnout and increase creative problem solving. Great for geriatrics, school system, home health, and rehab.

Course Objectives:
  • Therapists will learn to use everyday objects to meet therapeutic needs of patients.
  • Therapists will identify common materials available at discount, hardware, and home improvement stores that can be used to increase independence in patients.
  • Therapists will review patterns for adaptive equipment to be used for sensory, positioning, strengthening, fine motor, oral motor, and ADL purposes.
  • Therapists will assist other therapists with real life equipment dilemmas through audience participation and brainstorming.
  • Adaptations for fine motor, oral motor, positioning, sensory, strengthening and others will be revealed.
  • Creative, inexpensive, practical information applicable the day you return from this course.
  • Treatment plans with inexpensive everyday objects explored.
  • Participant requests and ideas will be shared. Discover favorite adaptations and treatment ideas of other therapists.

A certificate for six participation hours will be awarded at the end of the workshop.
Learners will be required to complete a multiple choice evaluation at the end of each learning activity in order to receive CEU credit documentation.

Certificates will be sent to registered email at the conclusion of on-site workshops. Participants can download documentation after a web based learning. Distance learning will receive documentation within two weeks of submission of evaluation.
